INDIANAPOLIS — Indiana Gov. Eric Holcomb this morning signed an executive order extending the state’s public health emergency to July 4.
In his order, Holcomb notes COVID-19, the disease caused by coronavirus, has spread to all of Indiana’s 92 counties resulting in more than 35,000 confirmed cases and 2,022 deaths.
“Despite significant steps being taken in our State, the virus remains a threat to the health, safety and welfare of all residents of Indiana such that the emergency conditions continue to exist, and further efforts are needed to address, control and reduce the threat posed by COVID-19,” the order says.
Indiana has been under a public health emergency since March 6.
