Driveway accident
A Winchester woman failed to see she was backing her vehicle into a parked car while pulling out of a driveway at 1365 E. 100 South, Portland, at 4:41 p.m. Friday.
Gail L. Lowrance, 46, was attempting to back a 1999 Chevy out of the driveway when it struck a 2010 Ford Focus registered to Bryan J. Turpin, Ridgeville. The Chevy is registered to Denver L. Burkett, Winchester.
Damage was estimated between $1,000 and $2,500.
Slide off
A Portland man was unable to control his vehicle, causing it to slide off the north side of county road 400 South and into a ditch near Indiana 1 at 5:41 a.m. Thursday.
Clarence O. Cooper, 43, was driving his 2005 Ford F150 when the accident happened. Damage was estimated between $1,000 and $2,500.
