Obituary
Joseph S. Jennings, age 72, of Fort Recovery died March 7, 2020, at his home.
He was born Sept. 19, 1947, in Celina, Ohio, to the late Roy and Stella (Stafanski) Jennings.
Surviving are his children, Ted Jennings of Salamonia, Indiana, and Melissa Orme of Decatur, Indiana; four grandchildren, Simon, Wade, Lance and London; siblings Sonja Creekmore of Macomb, Illinois, Tim (Wendy) Jennings of St. Marys, Ohio, and Lisa (Scott) Black of South Dakota; and a sister-in-law, Sheryl Jennings of Lawton, Oklahoma.
Preceding him in death were his son, David Jennings; granddaughters Chelsie and Heaven; and siblings Diane Holden and Mike Jennings.
After graduating from high school, he served in the Navy as a corpsman under the Marines during the Vietnam era. He was employed at several manufacturing companies in Ohio and Nevada.
Joe was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 6515, Fort Recovery. He enjoyed rock hunting, collecting coins, hiking and camping, and was an avid book reader.
Graveside services will be held at 5 p.m. Wednesday, March 11, 2020, at Spring Hill Cemetery, Fort Recovery. Graveside military honors will be conducted by the American Legion, Fort Recovery. A Celebration of Life will follow until 9 p.m. Wednesday at the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 6515, Fort Recovery.
Contributions can be made to the maintenance of the Veterans Park, Fort Recovery.
