To the editor:
For the last 30 years or so, the Plant, Hoe and Hope Garden Club has been proud to have planted flowers in our city.
We would like to thank our merchants, along with the City of Portland, for all the help and support given to our club in carrying out the downtown flower project.
However, starting this year, the flowers have been planted by our high school horticulture students under the direction of their teacher Brittany Kloer. The class has worked hard in planting and caring for the flowers during the winter in preparation for the spring planting.
Our club believes this is a great way for the students to express their civic pride.
The members of the Plant, Hoe and Hope Garden Club wish them the very best as they continue this worthy project.
Sincerely,
Connie Roberts and the members of the Plant, Hoe and Hope Garden Club
