To the editor:
I’m writing about the proposed Meridian Street project.
I am 87 years old.
If you take out the two traffic lights and I want to cross at those intersections, I couldn’t with traffic going straight through.
How many people could back in a space? That is a bad idea for anyone.
The downtown is bad with shut buildings. Who would want a business with the idea for Meridian Street?
If you want people to shop in Portland, we need to think again about the bad ideas.
I have talked to younger people who don’t want to try to park downtown.
Sincerely,
Barbara J. Smith
