Portland man died Friday in accident
OSHA is investigating incident
A Portland man died Friday after suffering injuries in the parking lot at Anderson High School.
Lucas Holcomb, 26, died from injuries suffered at 7:48 p.m. in the school parking lot, Madison County coroner Daniele Dunnichay-Noone told The Herald Bulletin (Anderson).
The newspaper reported that Indiana Occupational Safety and Health Administration is investigating the death as a possible work-related accident. Holcomb was an employee of E&B Paving.
Dunnichay-Noone told The Herald Bulletin that possible causes of death were crushing injuries, suffocation and blunt force trauma and that the incident remains under investigation. An autopsy was scheduled at St. Vincent Anderson Regional Hospital.
Anderson Fire Chief Dave Cravens told The Herald Bulleton that his department’s report says Holcomb was working on equipment in the school’s parking lot at the time of the incident.
