Marilyn D. Shaneyfelt, age 82, passed away early Wednesday, May 20, 2020, in Persimmon Ridge Healthcare in Portland.
She was born in Portland on Feb. 9, 1938, the daughter of Alden and Opal (Robbins) Zerkel. She was married to Dale Shaneyfelt, who survives.
She was retired as a grocery clerk having worked at Ludwig’s and Marsh Supermarket in Portland for more than 36 years.
She attended Church of the Brethren, was a member of Portland Evening Optimists, Citizens Police Academy and Jay County Hospital Auxiliary, and was a 1955 Portland High School graduate.
Surviving are her husband Dale; one son, Doug Jackson (wife: Debbie) of Portland; three daughters, Jane Newhouse (husband: Bill) of Youngstown, Pennsylvania, Barbara Stahley of Portland and Sandy Love of Bluffton; seven grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a son, Robert Jackson
Private funeral services will be Saturday in the Baird-Freeman Funeral Home with Pastor Mark Hinshaw presiding. Visitation will be Friday from 4 to 7 p.m.
