To the editor:
We would like to thank our community for its support of the “American Patriots’ Day” event.
We had an amazing turnout and it was wonderful to see everyone in such happy spirits. To look out and view that many American flags, great big and small, waving in the wind was a beautiful site to see.
First, we want to thank all of our veterans, current service members, police officers, fire department and first responders for keeping us safe. We would also like to thank everyone who joined in the convoy and those who cheered us along the way.
A special thanks to the sponsors: Hemmelgarn Masonry, Strohl Appliance and Electronics, TJ’s Concrete and Excavation, Display Craft, Grounds on the Fly, The Greazy Pickle, Pizza King, Progressive Office Products, Pioneer Packaging, NAPA, Cliff Guingrich, Dalton’s Concrete, Barnett’s, Price Monuments, Miles Mowing and Lawn Care, Todd Skirvin, D’s Grill, William’s Auto Parts, CCL, Greek’s Pizzeria, True Value, Adams Physical Therapy, Paul Martin, M&E Pots, Locker’s Touch of Country Gifts and Pastor Randy Smith.
We are asking everyone to please support all of our local businesses. Now more than ever, many of these businesses need our support, and we need them to keep our community going. They are always there for us for many, many different causes and events with donations. Let’s do our part and shop with them.
Thanks to you all for helping us have an amazing “American Patriots’ Day.”

Event was great
To the editor:
Wow. What a great “American Patriots’ Day” parade.
There were over 200 vehicles in the parade; all kinds of vehicles — tractors, trucks of all sizes, golf carts with multiple flags flying, ATVs, motorcycles, antique cars, even horses.
Well over 300 American patriots participated and Jay County residents lined both sides of Meridian Street from the old Marsh parking lot to Main Street. And what a great crowd gathered on Main Street across from Jay County Jail where we sang the national anthem and said the Pledge of Allegiance. Oh, I almost forgot there were hundreds of American flags flying.
It was just a great day and a fantastic parade. Thank you to everyone who had anything to do with our “American Patriots Day.”
