Warm weekend weather will coincide with an opportunity to explore nature.
Limberlost State Historic Site will host a Marsh After Dark event from 7 to 9 p.m. Saturday at Loblolly Marsh Nature Preserve.
The event, on a day with a high of 70 degrees expected, will begin with a walk in the dark to experience the marsh in a different way. There will also be a nature presentation, followed by the Firelight Theater Variety Show.
Attendees will be invited to entertain with a story, song, dance, poem or other talent. The event will conclude with a gathering around the fire, complete with hot chocolate and s’mores.
Masks are required, and participants should bring their own flashlight.
The event will begin at the nature preserve parking lot at 8323 N. 250 West, Bryant.
Admission ranges from $2.25 for youth members to $4 for adult non-members.
Program launched
LifeStream Services is offering a new program for grandparents raising grandchildren and other adults providing “kinship care.”
The group — Parenting a Second time Around — is an educational and support group developed by the Cornell University Cooperative Extension. It includes a series of workshops dealing with rebuilding families, child development, living with teens and legal issues. They are free and can be done in-person or virtually.
Those interested in hosting or participating in the program should contact Angie Jenkins at [email protected] or (765) 759-1121.
Sessions available
MDwise is offering informational sessions for those who have health coverage through the Healthy Indiana Plan, as those individuals have until Dec. 15 to change their plans.
Virtual events will be held from 3 to 4 p.m. Tuesday and 1 to 2 p.m. Nov. 11.
Additional online seminars will continue through mid-December.
