Obituary
John Runyon, age 43, a resident of Redkey, passed away on Friday, Nov. 6, 2020, at Lutheran Hospital in Fort Wayne.
John was born Nov. 6, 1977, in Portland, the son of Bruce Petschke and Candy Runyon. John graduated from Jay County High School in 1997. He worked for Ken Kunkle Chevrolet in Portland and FCC Indiana in Portland. He was the owner of Jayland Mowing and Snow Removal, and owner of the Key Palace Theater in Redkey. He also worked for Scout Clean Energy and Tri-Global.
John was a member of the Arch Bridge Kroozers. He was an avid archer and loved the Chicago Cubs, politics, blues music and all music. Most of all, he loved his family.
John married Caressa Coons on Feb. 22, 2003.

His loving wife of 17 years — Caressa Runyon, Redkey
Three wonderful sons — Preston, Hunter and Brenden, Redkey
Mother — Candy Runyon, Portland
Step-father — Tim Smith, Portland
Grandparents — John and Mary Helen Rigby, Portland
Two sisters — Heather Mattingly, Portland, and Barbara (husband: Gary) Smith, Portland
One brother — Scott (wife: Shannon) Newton, Portland
Several nieces and nephews and great-nieces and great-nephews
He was preceded in death by his father Bruce Petschke; and stepmother Jackie Petschke.
Visitation will be held Thursday from 2 to 8 p.m. at Key Palace Theater in Redkey. Funeral services will be held Friday at 11 a.m. at Key Palace Theater in Redkey. Burial will follow in Liber Cemetery with Craig Cotherman to officiate the services.
Memorial may be directed toward the family.
Arrangements are by Williamson-Spencer and Penrod Funeral Home in Portland.
