Obituary
Shirley D. Thobe, age 68, of St. Marys, Ohio, passed away Sunday, Nov. 15, 2020, in St. Rita Medical Center in Lima, Ohio.
She was born in Cadiz, Kentucky, on June 9, 1952 the daughter of Clarence and Birtie (Dunn) McCoy. Shirley was retired from Honda in Anna, Ohio, and had worked for Huffys in Celina, Ohio. She was a member of Celina Eagles Lodge, Celina Moose Lodge, Celina VFW and Celina American Legion. She attended Bryant High School in Bryant, Indiana.
Surviving are her fiancé Jerry Mendenhall of St. Marys, Ohio; three sons Jason Thobe (Alexis) of Portland, Kyle Thobe (wife: Jenny) of North Royalton, Ohio and Cory Thobe of Fort Recovery, Ohio; one brother Gary McCoy (wife: Debbie) of Geneva, Indiana; father of her boys Terry Thobe of Fort Recovery, Ohio, and seven grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her siblings Larry “Butch” McCoy, Lorraine Causey, Sue Adams and Betty Hummel.
Funeral services will be Friday, Nov. 20, 2020, at 7 p.m. in the Baird-Freeman Funeral Home in Portland, Indiana.
Visitation will be Friday from 4 to 7 p.m.
Memorials can be made to Ronald McDonald House or Kate’s Cart.
