To the editor:
It is with great thanks that the Jay Patriot Band would like to thank the many individuals, businesses and organizations that donated to our 2020 instrument campaign.
Without the support of The Portland Foundation and its generous grant of $66,000 we would not have been able to reach the lofty goal of $100,732. We are very humbled that The Portland Foundation continues to support our program and the many students who are involved.
Jay Schools also provided funding for the instrument campaign.
In addition, we would like to thank the following individuals, businesses and organizations for their donations: Brian and Jennifer Bailey, Dave’s Heating, Hawthorne Products, Nila and Van Staffer, Stephen and Carlotta Flynn, Bruce and Cathy Phillips, PJ Corwin, IOOF Lodge #145 of Pennville, The Andersons, American Legion post #345, VFW Post #6515, James and Charlene Isenhart, the employees of First Merchants Bank, Jim and Carol Hedges, Kelly and Jamie Smeltzer, Neil and Meg Habegger, FCC, Tyson Foods, Joe and Nichole Acker, First Bank of Berne and WPGW.
The Jay Patriot Band has begun to use the new instruments and looks forward to many performances to come.
Sincerely,
Kelly Smeltzer
