Obituary
Alvin A. Timmerman, age 86, of Portland, Indiana, died Nov. 27, 2020, at Persimmon Ridge, Portland, Indiana.
He was born June 2, 1934, in Coldwater, Ohio, to the late Fred and Louise (Rosenbeck) Timmerman. On April 24, 1954, he married Rose (Garke) Timmerman, who survives.
Also surviving are Alvin and Rose's five children, Linda (Darrell) Hicks of Berne, Indiana, Michael (Becky) Timmerman of Portand, Indiana, Kenneth Timmerman of Cincinnati, Karen Till of Fort Wayne, Indiana, and Kathlyn (Robb) Gerken of Antwerp, Ohio; his sister, Cathy (Larry) Wendel of Wendelin, Ohio; their 15 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren; his brother-in-law, Don Kuether of Covington, Ohio; and his in-law, Sr. Mary Garke C.PP.S. of Dayton, Ohio.
Preceding him in death were his siblings, Herbert (Dorothy) Timmerman, Marie (Lawrence) Weitzel, Clarence "Bud" (Patricia) Timmerman, Ralph (Jean) Timmerman and Evelyn Kuether; and in-law, Margaret Ann (Ernest "Doc") Stahl.
Alvin was a member of Mary Help of Christians Catholic Church, Fort Recovery, Ohio. He was employed for many years at the former New Idea, Coldwater, Ohio, and was a retired farmer.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 1, 2020, at Mary Help of Christians Catholic Church with Fr. Christian Cone-Lombarte as celebrant. All Centers for Disease Control and Prevention guidelines will be followed during the mass which will be live streamed at fortrecoverycatholics.org/streamspot. Burial will follow at St. Marys Cemetery, Fort Recovery.
Calling is 4 to 7 p.m. Monday and 9:30 to 10 a.m. Tuesday at Brockman – Boeckman Funeral Home, Fort Recovery, Ohio. Masks are required to be worn during the visitation and CDC guidelines will be followed.
