FORT RECOVERY — The Fort Recovery volleyball team picked up another conference win Thursday, downing the Coldwater Cavaliers 25-18, 25-17, 25-18, at Fort Site Fieldhouse.
Fort Recovery, which finished fifth in the most recent OHSVCA Division IV poll, got 11 kills from Paige Fortkamp and eight kills by Whitley Rammel. Marissa Gaerke also had seven kills to go with her nine digs for the Indians (13-2, 5-1 Midwest Athletic Conference).
Hope Wendel finished with 19 assists. Audra Bubp was 15-of-16 from the service line with two aces. Tiegen Fortkamp contributed four blocks.
Fort Recovery's junior varsity team also won, 25-21, 25-22. Mara Pearson led the team with 12 kills, and Paige Guggenbiller chipped in three kills. Madelyn Knapke served five aces.
Boys 10th
HARROD, Ohio — The Fort Recovery boys golf team had its season end by placing 10th in the Division III Northwest District sectional tournament Thursday at Colonial Golfers Club.
Delphos St. John’s claimed the team title with 346, two strokes ahead of Lima Central Catholic. Minster shot 352 for third. Fort Recovery ended with 397.
Carson Rammel shot 96 as the Tribe’s lead golfer and finished in a seven-way tie for 28th place.
Zander Kunkler’s 98 was tied for 35th overall, and Isaac LeFevre shot 101 to tie for 42nd. Cole Muhlenkamp rounded out the Tribe’s team score with 102, which was tied for 44th.
Derek Lochtefeld also competed, but his 104 did not factor into the team total.
Jack Gerker of St. John’s was the individual champion with is round of 79.
Indians fall
ST. HENRY, Ohio — Fort Recovery’s seventh and eighth grade football teams both fell to the St. Henry Redskins on Thursday.
The seventh graders dipped to 3-1-1 with a 14-0 loss, and the eighth grade team fell to 1-4 with a 14-12 defeat.
