Phil Hanlin, age 80, of Portland passed away Saturday, Oct. 10, 2020, at his residence.
Phil was born in Portland on July 12, 1940, the son of Melvin and Evelyn (Hollingsworth) Hanlin. He was married on June 23, 1962, to Diane Kinsey, and she passed away on Jan. 20, 2020.
Phil was owner and manager of Hanlin Drug Store in Portland for 41 years. He was a member of the Mount Zion Church, Portland Elks Lodge (past exalted ruler), Portland Moose Lodge and American Legion Post #211. He was a 1958 graduate of Portland High School and a graduate of International Business College. He also served in the Air National Guard.
Surviving are a son Chris Hanlin (wife: Kelly) of Sonoma, California; a daughter, Teresa Michelle Currie of Portland; one brother, Michael Hanlin of Indianapolis; and three grandchildren, Riley, Mackenzie and Aaron.
Funeral services will be Saturday, Oct. 17, 2020, at noon in the Baird-Freeman Funeral Home with Pastor Darrell Borders presiding. Burial will follow in the Mount Zion Cemetery. Visitation will be Saturday from 10 a.m. to noon.
