The sights and sounds of the Limberlost will be the focus of a guided tour this weekend.
Limberlost State Historic Site will host a guided tour of Limberlost Music of the Wild Nature Preserve and Bird Sanctuary at 9 a.m. Saturday.
Attendees will join a Limberlost naturalist for a hike along Limberlost Creek, which runs through the area. The naturalist will provide information about the ecology of the area, which was used as the setting for “Music of the Wild” by author, naturalist and photographer Gene Stratton-Porter. Participants should be prepared to hike up to 2 miles.
Admission ranges from $2.25 for youth members to $4 for adult non-members. The event will begin at the Limberlost Visitor Center, 202 E. 6th St., Geneva.
Play begins Thursday
Tickets are still available for a play that will run from Thursday to Sunday at Ball State University.
Department of Theatre and Dance students will perform “The Children’s Hour,” a 1934 play about two teachers falsely accused of being lesbians. The Lillian Hellman play will be directed by Veronica Santoyo and focuses on the ramifications of false accusations.
Students, faculty, staff and seniors can buy tickets for $5. Tickets are $10 for everyone else and can be purchased at bsu.edu/theatre, by calling (765) 285-8749 or visiting the box office located near Bracken Library from noon to 5 p.m. weekdays. The box office also opens an hour before performances.
Seats will be limited and masks will be required to abide by CDC and Ball State University COVID-19 guidelines.
