Another opportunity to donate blood is scheduled for next week.
The American Red Cross is urging donors to give blood or platelets to help cancer patients during Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
The blood drive this month in Portland is scheduled for noon to 6 p.m. Tuesday at The 615, 615 N. Williams St. There are drives from noon to 6 p.m. Tuesday at South Adams Senior Center, 825 Hendrick St., Berne, and Southern Wells High School, 9120 S. 300 West, Poneto.
Donors are asked to make an appointment via the Red Cross Blood Donor app, at redcrossblood.org or by calling (800) 733-2767.
Those who donate between today and Nov. 11 will receive a $5 Amazon.com gift card.
Returning to JCPL
Mother Goose will be at Jay County Public Library, 315 N. Ship St., Portland, at 11:15 a.m. each Friday. She will share stories, rhymes and activities with children in the facility’s Community Room.
Story time at the library is scheduled for 10 a.m. Monday in the Community Room.
The Writers and Readers Circle will meet at 6:30 p.m. Monday to discuss holiday stories.
Also this month, East Central Indiana Paranormal Investigators will make a visit to the library at 6:30 p.m. Oct. 29. They will share ghost stories and paranormal research.
