Obituary
Rachel M. Stultz died on Monday, Aug. 31, 2020, in Pickerington, Ohio.
She was born on July 1, 1920, in Noble Township in Jay County, Indiana, to Jacob and Mabel Heidegger. She married Harold F. Stultz on March 8, 1947.
She was predeceased by her parents; her husband; two brothers, Walter Heidegger and David Heidegger; sister Florence Coldren; and great-grandson Colin MacWilliam.
Rachel Stultz is survived by a son, Thomas Stultz (wife: Rebecca) of Pickerington, Ohio; daughter Nancy Gillespie (husband: Jan) of Upland, Indiana; five grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; sister Miriam Jones (husband: Charles); sister-in-law Betty Stultz; brother-in-law Bill Stultz (wife: Sandy); several nieces and nephews.
She was a graduate of Madison High School, class of 1938, and Lutheran Hospital School of Nursing in 1941. She worked as a registered nurse at Jay County Hospital and briefly at the Union City Hospital.
She was a member of St. James Lutheran Church in Salamonia. She was a member of St. James ALCW, Jay County Hospital Auxiliary, the Noble Busy Bees Home Economics Club, the Business and Professional Women’s Association of Portland and the Jay Area Nurses Association.
Visitation will be held from 1 to 2 p.m. on Saturday at the St. James Lutheran Church, in Salamonia. Funeral services will immediately follow at 2 p.m. at the church. Pastor Robin Owen will officiate the services and burial will follow in the Salamonia Cemetery.
The family is requesting everyone in attendance for visitation and the service to wear a mask.
Arrangements are entrusted to the Williamson-Spencer and Penrod Funeral Home in Portland.
