FORT RECOVERY — The Bulldogs put up little fight.
The Indians stayed perfect.
Fort Recovery High School’s volleyball team swept the Celina Bulldogs to remain undefeated Tuesday, 25-12, 25-18, 25-12, at Fort Site Fieldhouse.
Paige Fortkamp and Whitley Rammel led the Indians (4-0) offensively with 13 and 12 kills, respectively. Marissa Gaerke (five kills) and Grace Guggenbiller (three kills) also contributed for the Indian attack.
Hope Wendel didn’t miss any of her 26 serves to go with her three aces and five digs. She also set up the offense with 17 assists. Emma Kahlig contributed four aces, and Rammel also had a team-best three blocks.
Fort Recovery’s junior varsity team fell to 3-1 on the year with a 25-20, 25-18 loss.
Mara Pearson led the Indians with four kills, Tiegen Fortkamp had four assists and Audra Bubp tallied five digs.
Bruns leads in win
Jalyn Bruns shot 1-over-par to lead the Fort Recovery girls golf team past the Lincolnview Lancers 195-211 Tuesday at Portland Golf Club.
Bruns was even after two holes before bogeying the par-5 12th hole. She rebounded to birdie the par-3 13th, and made par on the next four holes. She settled for bogey on the par-3 18th for her round of 36 to earn match medalist honors.
Shelby Stammen was second for the Indians with 45, and Shelby Acheson shot 56 for the team’s No. 3 score. Trisha Gaerke and Kim Hart tied for 58 to complete the team total.
Macy Brunswick also competed but her 59 did not factor into the team score.
