LifeStream offers Jay meal pick-up

Seniors have an easy option for getting meals.
LifeStream Services is offering curbside meal pick-up for older adults in Jay County who are isolated during the coronavirus pandemic.
The program serves those 60 and older. Participants will receive a box of five frozen meals.
Meal pick-up is available from 10 to 10:30 a.m. each Wednesday at Jay Community Center, 115 E. Water St., Portland. Meal packs must be reserved at least a week in advance by calling LifeStream at (800) 589-1121.
LifeStream is also seeking volunteers to help with the meal service. Those interested should contact volunteer services administrator Laura Bray at [email protected] or (765) 759-3372.

The Alzheimer’s Association of Greater Indiana is offering educational programs and caregiver support groups online and by phone.
Programs this month include help with understanding and dealing with dementia on Sept. 29, best practices for maintaining a healthy brain Sept. 17 and effective communication and warning signs of Alzheimer’s Disease Sept. 22. All programs are free.
