Scholarships and teacher grants announced three weeks ago totaled nearly $165,000.
Another $175,000 came Monday.
The Portland Foundation announced its summer 2020 grant recipients, giving away $175,385 to 13 local organizations.
The largest of the grants was $40,000 to John Jay Center for Learning for the third phase of the replacement of its heating and air conditioning units.
Jay Community Center received a pair of grants — $15,000 for its senior citizen programming and $10,000 for equipment for two fitness classrooms.
A $20,000 grant went to Jay County Fair Association for support of its operations.
Arts Place received $15,000 for its 2021 Arts in the Parks program.
A $7,500 grant was awarded to Youth Service Bureau for its Keeping At Risk Students in School (KARSS) program.
Other grants went to:
•West Jay Community Center — $4,785 for the purchase of a cooler and the repair of security doors.
•National Center for Great Lakes Native American Culture — $4,369 for three laptop computers, backpacks and software.
•Pennville Community Boosters — $3,000 for a water heater, refrigerator, sink, baby changing station and folding chairs for Pennville Community Center and $1,250 for the Pennville Pumpkin Festival.
•Kate’s Kart — $4,000 for books to be distributed at IU Health Jay.
•Psi Iota Xi – Gamma Alpha Chapter — $4,000 for an ice cream machine.
•Jay County Robotics — $3,000 for equipment
