Tri-State swap and sell begins Oct. 8

The tractors and engines will be back.
Tri-State Gas Engine and Tractor Association will host its fall swap and sell meet from Oct. 8 through 10 at its grounds on Morton Street in Portland.
The event will feature a variety of collectors. Only antique engines, tractors and related parts will be allowed.
Admission is $5 for those 12 and older. Those 11 and younger will be admitted for free.
No one will be allowed on the grounds before 8 a.m. Oct. 8. For more information, visit tristategasenginetractor.com.
Pick-up available
LifeStream Services is offering curbside meal pick-up for older adults in Jay County who are isolated during the coronavirus pandemic.
The program serves those 60 and older. Participants will receive a box of five frozen meals.
Meal pick-up is available from 10 to 10:30 a.m. each Wednesday at Jay Community Center, 115 E. Water St., Portland. Meal packs must be reserved at least a week in advance by calling LifeStream at (800) 589-1121.
LifeStream is also seeking volunteers to help with the meal service. Those interested should contact volunteer services administrator Laura Bray at [email protected] or (765) 759-3372.

Classes offered
Arts Place is currently accepting registrations for ArtWorks classes in Portland as well as its centers in Blackford and Auglaize counties.
ArtWorks classes being offered in Portland this fall — beginning Saturday — include oil painting, clay class (wheel throwing) for kids, clay passport open studio for experienced wheel throwers, wheel throwing for adults, basket weaving, chef apron sewing and machine-quilted nine-square Christmas pillow.
In addition to the traditional in-person classes, Arts Place will also allow some classes to be taken virtually.
