Alex Bader showed out in the final regular-season meet of her junior year.
Bader, a 2018 Jay County High School graduate, was second in one event and third in another for the Ball State University women’s swim team Friday in its final tune-up before the conference championships.
The Cardinals lost to Indiana State (172.5-127.5) and Southern Illinois (184-115).
The junior was the runner-up in the 100-yard breaststroke in 1 minute, 3.87 seconds, then stopped the clock in 2:22.52 for third in the 200 breaststroke.
Bader helped the 400 medley relay end fourth, and was also part of the fifth-place 200 freestyle relay.
The Cardinals will compete in the Mid-American Conference Championships from April 15 through 17 at Eastern Michigan.

Was hitless in four at-bats for the Huntington University baseball team.
Moser entered as a pinch-hitter Saturday in the first game of a doubleheader against Taylor (a 7-6 loss in 11 innings). He was unable to get on base.
Two days later in another doubleheader against Taylor, he got the start as the team’s designated hitter. Moser struck out three times in the Foresters’ 4-2 victory.
In 13 at bats for the Foresters, Moser has a pair of hits, an RBI and a walk. He’s been hit by a pitch twice.

Ran for the Tiffin University women’s track team as it competed in the Greater Midwest Athletic Conference indoor championships Thursday and Friday at Cedarville.
Will took 20th in the 5,000-meter run, ending in a time of 20 minutes, 20.73 seconds. Findlay’s Gabrielle Lawrence won with a time of 17:28.69.
Guggenbiller had a time of 6:26.47 for 24th in the 1-mile run. Cedarville’s Rachel Sweeney won in 5:03.03.

Started on the mound for the Lake Erie baseball team Saturday in the first game of a doubleheader against the Findlay Oilers.
Wendel surrendered seven runs — three earned — on six hits in five innings of work, but did not factor into the decision. He struck out seven and walked a pair in a 10-9 loss.
