Obituary
Alberta G. Bowler, 93, of Redkey, Indiana, passed away peacefully Friday, April 23, 2021, while in the company of family members at her residence.
Alberta was born in Portland, Indiana, on Jan. 25, 1928, a daughter of the late William and Nillie I. (Corley) Scott. She was the loving wife of Charles L. Bowler and was employed by Kerr Glass as an inspector until her retirement.
Alberta was a member of Local Union #96, and enjoyed camping, fishing, gardening, canning, cooking, baking, sewing, playing card games like euchre and hand and foot, watching westerns, the Hallmark Channel and the Indianapolis Colts, and spending time with her family and grandchildren.
She is survived by one son, John Thomas “Tom” Bowler (wife: Teresa); 10 grandchildren; and several great- and great-great-grandchildren.
Alberta was preceded in death by her parents; husband Charles; daughter Linda L. Copeland; six brothers; and four sisters.
Friends are invited to call Wednesday, April 28, 2021, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at MJS Mortuaries – Redkey Chapel. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. with Pastor Randy Davis officiating, following a short break for the family from 1 to 2 p.m. Burial will be held in Dunkirk IOOF Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to “A Better Life – Brianna’s Hope.”
Please be assured that for your health and safety, all Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, government and local health department recommendations and guidelines are followed (county metrics maximum with social distancing, masks are still to be worn while in attendance, hand sanitizer will be available, extra cleaning, and disinfecting measures have been taken).
