Learning series set for Thursday

John Jay Center for Learning’s Senior Learning Series next event, the first to be held at John Jay since the start of the coronavirus pandemic, will be held at 11:30 a.m. Aug. 5. Justin Curley of Jay County’s Purdue Extension Office will discuss building a mini greenhouse.
Entries open
The Jay County Campus of Arts Place is accepting entries for a regional juried exhibition.
The exhibit is open to artists 18 and older who live in Indiana or an adjacent state. The work must be original and have been made within the last two years. All media are eligible.
Artist Maria Whiteman, a visiting fellow as the artist in social practice at the Environmental Resilience Institute at Indiana University, will jury the show. Her art focuses on interconnectedness.
There will be a total of $3,000 in prizes, including $1,500 for best in show. There will also be a $500 award for the best 2-D piece.
