Cheryl Smiley, age 45, a resident of Portland, passed away Tuesday, Aug. 3, 2021, at her sister’s home in Pennville.
Cheryl was born Jan. 14, 1976, in Bellflower, California, the daughter of David Baynes and Linda (Ball) Horine. She married Jason Smiley on May 10, 2005.
Survivors include:
Her husband — Jason Smiley, Portland, Indiana
Two daughters — Amy Jo Ford (husband: Marcus), Portland, Indiana, and Samantha Damron, New Castle, Indiana
One son — David Smiley, Portland, Indiana
Two sisters — Tina Lessing (husband: Duane), Portland, Indiana, and Davene Steen (husband: Brad), Pennville, Indiana
Two grandchildren — Anthony and Elizabeth Ford
She was preceded in death by two sisters, Brenda Mourant and Linda Guntle; and a grandson, Matthew Theurer.
Visitation will be held Wednesday, Aug. 11, 2021, from noon to 6 p.m. at Williamson-Spencer and Penrod Funeral Home in Portland. Services to celebrate Cheryl’s life will follow at 6 p.m. at the funeral home.
Memorials may be directed towards the family in care of Williamson-Spencer and Penrod Funeral Home.
