The Patriots hosted three conference rivals in their first nine-hole match of the season.
They finished fourth by three strokes.
Jay County High School’s girls golf team opened Allen County Athletic Conference round-robin play by placing fourth in a match against Heritage, South Adams and Woodlan on Monday at Portland Golf Club.
Heritage was first with its team score of 199, and South Adams shot 225 for second. Woodlan totaled 228, three strokes ahead of the Patriots (0-3, 0-3 ACAC).
Maddy Snow and Janae Jacobs led the Patriots with matching scores of 56, and Reba Wendel shot 59 in her varsity debut. Paityn Chapman completed the team total with her round of 60.
Rosealynne Smith also competed, but her 63 did not factor into the team total.
Carley Rodenbeck of Heritage shot 43 to earn match medalist.
In junior varsity action, Cassandra Coffin posted the best JCHS score with a 65. Ellie Klarer carded 68 and Kristen Wendel shot 70.
FR boys lose
ARCANUM, Ohio — The Fort Recovery boys golf team lost its season opener 186-193 to the Tri-Village Patriots on Monday at Beechwood Golf Club.

Gavin Faller and Eli Lennartz also competed for the Indians (0-1), shooting 56 and 60, respectively. Their totals did not factor into the overall score.

Fort Recovery's girls golf team opened its season Monday morning with a 180-204 loss to the Tri-Village Patriots at Portland Golf Club.
Tribe senior Jalyn Bruns was the match medalist by shooting 3-over-par 38. She made par four times, including the first, third and fourth holes. She also was even on the par-5 sixth.
Kim Hart scored 54 as the team’s second-best score. Paige Bihn and Macy Brunswick both shot 56 to complete the team score.
Shelby Acheson and Alaina Will also competed, and both shot 60. Their rounds did not factor into the team total for Fort Recovery (0-1).
