CELINA, Ohio — Isaac LeFevre was the lone Fort Recovery boys golfer to shoot in double digits Tuesday as the Indians placed sixth in the Mercer County Invitational at Mercer County Elks Golf Club.
Coldwater claimed the title as the best team in the county with its score of 335, and St. Henry was second with 343. Celina, the only non-Midwest Athletic Conference school in the county, was third with 358.
The Indians had a score of 390.
LeFevre led the Indians with his round of 89, which was good enough for ninth overall. Zander Kunkler and Cole Muhlenkamp each shot 100, and Carson Siefring totaled 101 to complete the team score.
Keegan Muhlenkamp (112) and Alex Dues (113) also competed but did not factor into the team score.
Fort Recovery’s junior varsity team placed third with its score of 453. Coldwater (418) won and St. Henry (452) was second.
Gavin Faller (104) led the JV Indians and was third overall, with Reece Evers (110), Eli Lennartz (117) and Matthew Romer (123) all contributing to the team total.
Sage Wendel and Drew Backs also competed, and they shot 130 and 134 respectively.

BERNE — The Fort Recovery girls golf team evened its record by topping the host South Adams Starfires 202-223 on Tuesday at Wabash Valley Golf Club.
Jalyn Bruns paced Fort Recovery with her round of 40, and Shelby Acheson posted the team’s second-best score with a 51. Paige Bihn carded 54, and Macy Brunswick ended with 57.
Kim Hart also competed, but her 67 was not a factor in the overall team score.
