Obituaries
John E. Hanlin, 77, resident of Pennville, Indiana, died on Jan. 31, 2021.
John was born on July 23, 1943, to George and Edwina Hanlin. He worked in real estate and appraisals and operated his family farm, in later years raising registered Angus cattle.
Survivors include children Tammy Hanlin (Dave Ashley) of Pennville, Dawn Marineau (John Malone) of Wasilla, Alaska, and George Hanlin of Indianapolis; sisters Nina Stultz of Montpelier, Indiana, and Martha Kimmel of LaOtto, Indiana; and several nieces and nephews.
A son, John Hanlin Jr., preceded him in death, as did his parents and his siblings Ellen Bulzone, George Hanlin and Carolyn Hoffacker.
A memorial service is scheduled for Sunday, Aug. 22, at Glancy Funeral Home in Montpelier, with calling hours at 1:30 p.m. followed by remarks at 2 p.m.
The family invites friends to gather afterward from 3 to 5 p.m. at the Montpelier Legion for a celebration of life.
