Another opportunity to learn about local history is coming up next week.
Fort Recovery State Museum will host author Frank Kuron at 3 p.m. Aug. 29 for the presentation “Clash of Cultures! Discover the Relationships of Tecumseh; the Prophet; and the Future President, William Henry Harrison.”
Kuron is the author of two books about the Northwest Territory and his presentation will explore the clash between Native Americans and colonists in the area now known as the Midwest. It will include a look at the role the Shawnee played in events in the early years of the United States.

Acclaim Press is creating the “Hoosier Homestead Farm” Legacy Book to feature the more than 5,800 farms that have received the Hoosier Homestead Award for longevity.
All Hoosier Homestead farms are eligible to submit up to 300 words about their history to be included in the book. A photo can be submitted as well.

Limberlost hosting
Limberlost State Historic Site will host an Autumn Loblolly Wildflower Safari scheduled for Sept. 11.
The wildflower safari is set for 10 a.m. Sept. 11 at the Loblolly Marsh Nature Preserve.
Visitors will join a Limberlost naturalist for a stroll along the Loblolly trails to see early autumn wildflowers in bloom. The naturalist will discuss how humans and animals use the plants.
The fee is $3 for children and $5 for adults. Participants should meet at the Loblolly preserve parking lot at 8323 N. 250 West, rural Bryant.
