Charlotte Norris, age 78, a resident of Pennville, passed away Tuesday, Aug. 24, 2021, at Parkview Regional Hospital in Fort Wayne.
Charlotte was born Nov. 30, 1943, in Johnson City, Tennessee, the daughter of Gurney and Creet (Pope) Moody. Charlotte worked at Pennville Custom Cabinets in Portland and worked for Jay Schools in the cafeteria. She was a member of the Hickory Grove Church and was Elvis Presley’s No. 1 fan.
Charlotte Norris had unconditional love for her husband, her family, her grandchildren and her animals. Most importantly, she loved God with all of her heart and she would want everyone to know she is finally home resting in the arms of Jesus. She is finally seeing the beauty of heaven we all wish to see one day. Please remember the joy she brought to your life, as she did for all of us. She was a remarkable human being. Forever giving, even in heaven.
Charlotte married Darrell Norris on Dec. 31, 1969.

Her husband — Darrell Norris, Pennville
Two sons — Tom Mink, Fort Wayne, and Shannon Mink (wife: Jennifer), Hartford City
Step-daughter — Angie Norris, Bluffton
Step-son — Greg Norris (wife: Erin), Cincinnati, Ohio
Sister — Janice Hampshire, Portland
Brother — Gurney Moody, Dayton, Ohio
Eight grandchildren — Lexi, Erica, Kelsey, Shandi, Emily, Chase, Marissa and Taylor
Several great-grandchildren
She was preceded in death by two brothers, Jack and John Moody.
Visitation will be held Saturday from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Williamson-Spencer and Penrod Funeral Home in Portland. The funeral will follow visitation at 2 p.m. at the funeral home. Pastor Earl Doll will officiate the service and burial will follow in I.O.O.F. Twin Hill Cemetery in Pennville.
Memorials may be directed to the family in care of Darrell Norris.
