Ralph Liggett, age 93, of Bradenton, Florida, and Portland passed away Monday, Aug. 23, 2021, in Florida.
He was born in Muncie on Aug. 14, 1928, the son of Harry and Ada (Metzger) Liggett. He was married to Ruby Warnock, and she passed away in 1998. He later married Barbara Weisel, who survives.
He was longtime owner and operator of Liggett TV and Appliance in Portland. He was a member of West Walnut Street Church of Christ, Portland Elks Lodge, Jay Lodge #87 F&AM, American Legion and board of directors of Peoples Bank, and was a Madison Township High School graduate.
Surviving are his wife Barbara; one son, Kirk Liggett (wife: Bonnie) of Portland; stepson Dr. Randall Weisell of Bradenton, Florida; stepdaughter Lori Schoenberger of Houston; one brother, Ronald Liggett (wife: Francis) of Redkey; and granddaughter Laci Wong of Charlotte, North Carolina.
He was preceded in death by a son, Kim Liggett; and brothers Harold and Howard Liggett.
Funeral services will be Monday, Aug. 30, 2021, at 11 a.m. in the Baird-Freeman Funeral Home with Pastor Gil Alicea presiding. Burial will follow in the Green Park Cemetery. Visitation will be Monday from 10 to 11 a.m.
