Janet Flauding

Janet Flauding, age 80, a resident of Muncie, passed away on Thursday, Aug. 26, 2021, at IU Health University Hospital in Indianapolis. She was a former resident of Gaston and Bryant.

Janet was born on Dec. 9, 1940, in Bryant, Indiana, the daughter of Walter and Anna Ruth (Roser) Stump. She married Max Flauding on July 3, 1956, and he passed away on Sept. 21, 2018. Janet was a member of the Avondale Sympathy Club.

Survivors include:

Three daughters — Cathy Reffitt (husband: James), Gaston, Indiana, Vicky Bennett (husband: Scott), Gaston, Indiana, and Anita Wiemer (husband: Bruce), Albany, Indiana

Two sons — David Flauding (companion: Candi Clawson), Pennville, Indiana, and John Flauding (wife: Jacqulynn), Muncie, Indiana

Two brothers — Walter “Bill” Stump (wife: Karen), Fort Recovery, Ohio, and Leland “Babe” Stump (wife: Shirley), Geneva, Indiana

One sister — Gladys Twigg

Eleven grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren and eight great-great-grandchildren

She was preceded in death by her husband, Max Flauding; a son, Max William Flauding; a daughter, Deborah Flauding; and a great-grandson Mason Manship.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday from 11 a.m., 2 p.m. at Williamson-Spencer and Penrod Funeral Home in Portland. Services to celebrate Janet’s life will follow at 2 p.m. on Tuesday at the funeral home. Pastors Albert and James Reffitt will officiate the service and burial will follow at Gravel Hill Cemetery, west of Bryant.
