To the editor:
On Aug. 19, my wife Jean Peterson attended the Jay County High School volleyball game.
When it ended, she left to go home to Dunkirk. Traveling on Indiana 67, she was stopped by Jay County Sheriff’s Office deputy Cory Shepherd and he informed her that her tail lights were out.
She was not aware of that and he told her he would follow her home, which he did. This was very much appreciated and, to me, this was a service beyond his call of duty.
Thank you so much, deputy Shepherd.
