Kevin Franklin

Kevin Everett Franklin, 53, of Dunkirk, Indiana, passed away unexpectedly Friday evening, Nov. 26, 2021, at his residence.

He was born Aug. 16, 1968, in Portland, Indiana, the son of Orrin Franklin and Freda (Wheeler) Franklin. He was a 1987 graduate of Jay County High School.

Kevin worked 10 years in maintenance for Magna Powertrain. He enjoyed spending his leisure time playing guitar, riding his motorcycle and spending time with the family.

He leaves to cherish his memory his mother; four daughters, Brittany Franklin (Kody Bankenship) of Dunkirk, Indiana, Haley Franklin of Dunkirk, Indiana, Taylor Franklin of Redkey, Indiana, and Alexis Franklin of Albany, Indiana; a brother, Brian Franklin (Shelia) of Dunkirk, Indiana; four grandchildren, Kasin, Raelyn, Kashton and Hendrix; and nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father; and his wife, Marla Franklin.

A service to celebrate Kevin’s life will be 2 p.m. Friday, Dece. 3, 2021, at Wilson Shook Funeral Home, Dunkirk Memorial Chapel of Dunkirk, Indiana. Burial will follow in Dunkirk IOOF Cemetery. Family and friends may gather to share and remember from noon to service time Friday at the funeral home.
