Chittum, his letters, will be missed

Chittum, his letters, will be missed

To the editor:

Writing this letter is a tough thing to do at this moment in time but it needs to be written.

I am writing this as a tribute to Larry Chittum.

Larry loved many things in life and one of those things was writing letters to the editor to The Commercial Review. Larry wrote about many things in his many years. He wrote about politics, the environment and the Jay County Patriots. He loved to watch and support the Jay County Patriots.

Because of my friendships with Chris Jackson and Vince Chittum, I have been around Larry and his family for almost 30 years, and what a wonderful family you are. You have always made me feel welcome and like I was part of your family. I started this as a tribute to Larry because he loved to write to The Commercial Review but in the end, it is a tribute to his entire family. If you are lucky enough to know the Chittum and Jackson families then you know that they are the most lovable people, and they would do anything for anyone. Please keep Donna and her family in your thoughts and prayers. I love you all and you will always be in my heart and in my thoughts.

Larry, I will miss you and your letters to the editor, but I know you are with Chris right now arguing with Alex Trebek about some answer Jeopardy! got wrong in 1997 and that makes me incredibly happy for the both of you.

(Editor’s note: One of the staples of Larry’s hand-written letters to the editor was frequent use of the abbreviation “BW.” It wasn’t one we were familiar with so we used the full words when his letters appeared in print. But here at The Commercial Review, we know that abbreviation well. BW = beautiful wife.)
