Andrew Eley

Andrew Eley, age 27, a resident of Indianapolis, passed away on Saturday, Dec. 4, 2021, at Eskenazi Hospital in Indianapolis. He was a former resident of Portland and Redkey.

Andrew was born on June 8, 1994, in Fort Wayne, the son of Jody and Mary (Garlinger) Eley. He graduated from Jay County High School in 2014 where he was active in football, wrestling and track. Andrew enjoyed playing co-ed softball. He was a fan of Marvel and D.C. superheroes. Andrew worked for Two Men and a Truck in Indianapolis.

His parents — Mary Eley (James Crawmer), Redkey, Indiana, and Jody Eley (wife: Sue), Portland, Indiana 

Two children — Parker Eley, Portland, Indiana, and Amara Eley, Indianapolis, Indiana 

Two brothers — Skylor Eley (wife: Brittany), Muncie, Indiana, and Sheldon Eley, Portland, Indiana 

One sister — Melony Eley, Redkey, Indiana 

His girlfriend: Lexi Jenkins – Indianapolis, Indiana 

Step-brother: Patrick Mitchell, Pennsylvania 

Step-sister: Cori Weaver, Hartford City, Indiana 

Grandfather: Charles Garlinger, Portland, Indiana

Step-grandparents: William and Lillian Lawton, New Jersey, and Steve Jones, Spencer, West Virginia

Visitation will be held on Saturday from 2 to 5 p.m. at Williamson-Spencer and Penrod Funeral Home in Portland. Services to celebrate Andrew’s life will follow at 5 p.m. on Saturday at the funeral home.
