Obituary
Janet S. Fifer, age 78, of rural Geneva passed away on Wednesday, Dec. 8, 2021, in Adams Woodcrest Nursing Home in Decatur.
She was born in Delaware County on March 4, 1943, the daughter of Frank and Pauline (Richards) Clevenger. She was married on Sept. 12, 1964, to Richard Fifer, who survives.
Janet was a homemaker and had worked at Bearcreek Farms and as a teacher’s aid at Bloomfield Elementary School. She was a graduate of Hartford Center High School and a member of Bryant Wesleyan Church, and enjoyed crafts, sewing and her grandchildren.
Surviving are her husband Richard; three sons, Rex Fifer (fiance: Valerie Welker) of Yorktown, Rory Fifer (wife: Laura) of Bryant and Ryan Fifer (wife: Paula) of Bryant; one sister, Vickie Landers (husband: Bob) of Geneva; and five grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, Dec. 13, 2021, in the Bryant Wesleyan Church with Pastor Paul VanCise presiding. Burial will follow in the Gravel Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be Sunday from 4 to 7 p.m. in the Baird-Freeman Funeral Home and Monday from 9 to 10 a.m. at the church.
