Verlyn H. “Junior” Reynolds, age 84, of Portland passed away Saturday, Dec. 18, 2021, in Albany Healthcare and Rehabilitation after a long, strong battle with Parkinson's Disease with smiles, humor, strength and acceptance each day.
He was born in Union City, Ohio, on Sept. 11, 1937, the son of Verlyn and Alma (Beam) Reynolds Sr. He was married on July 19, 1958, to Erna L. Spille and she passed away on Feb. 28, 2013.
Junior retired in 2006 from Teledyne Portland Forge after 32 years as a machinist. He also had a barber shop in Portland for several years. He was a member of Asbury United Methodist Church, Jaycees, Horse and Pony Club and was involved with the Kids Hope program. Junior loved riding horses and being with family around the campfire.
Survivors are two sons, Eric Reynolds (wife: Kimbra) of Portland and Darren Reynolds (husband: Robert) of Chicago; and one daughter, Lori Bonvillan (husband: Amos) of Portland; two sisters, Eileen Shell and Norma Mae Huston; eight grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be Thursday, Dec. 23, 2021, at 1 p.m. in the Baird-Freeman Funeral Home with Tom Frye presiding. Visitation will be Thursday from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.
