Pair shine for FR tankers

LIMA, Ohio — Teigen Fortkamp had her team’s only victory.

Sage Wendel continued to lower his own mark.

Fortkamp and Wendel had strong individual days for the Fort Recovery High School swim team as it competed in the Holiday Invitational on Tuesday at Lima YMCA.

The Tribe girls ended sixth overall, while the boys finished 16th.

(Team scores were not provided).

Fortkamp won the 50-yard freestyle, and was the runner-up in the 200 freestyle. Wendel lowered his own school record in the 500 freestyle as he finished in fourth place.

Also placing in the top eight for the FRHS girls were Audra Bubp (fourth – 100 breaststroke, eighth – 200 IM) and Joelle Kaup (eighth – 200 freestyle).

Melissa Laux, Bubp, Kaup and Fortkamp took fifth in the 200 freestyle relay and were seventh in the 200 medley relay.
