Obituary
Dick W. Glassford, age 86, of Portland passed away Monday morning, Jan. 25, 2020, at his residence.
Dick was born in Portland on April 21, 1934, the son of Gerald W. and Phyllis I. (McKibben) Glassford. He was married on Dec. 24, 1954, to Ruth L. Fifer who survives. He was retired from Delco Battery in Muncie in 1982 after 31 years. He enjoyed camping, fishing and traveling.
Surviving are his wife of 66 years Ruth; one son, Bruce A. Glassford (wife: Olivia) of Los Bantos, California; one daughter, Linda K. Wright of Portland; four grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; three step-grandchildren; and six step-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Cindy Glassford.
Funeral services will be Saturday, Jan. 30, 2020, at 11 a.m. in the Baird-Freeman Funeral Home with Dave McClellan presiding. Masks are required to attend. Burial will follow in the Green Park Cemetery. Visitation will be Saturday from 10 to 11 a.m.
Memorials can be made to the Jay County Cancer Society or American Lung Association.
