To the editor:
Thirty years ago, I stated that if there was a bill on the floor that would benefit the people of our nation or the GOP, the people be damned — party first, party last, party always.
In the years since then, nothing has changed. The all-enveloping greed for total power has defined the Republican Party. Party first, party last, party always.
One now must wonder what would have occurred if our GOP senators had honored their oaths of office, as did Mitt Romney, and voted for impeachment the first time. The possibility exists that our country might now be chugging along under the watchful eyes of everyone’s favorite Hoosier, Mike Pence.
Greed is a terrible thing.
