Pieces on CRT were way off base

Letter to the editor
Pieces on CRT were way off base
Pieces on CRT were way off base

To the editor: I almost laughed out loud at the hypocritical letter to the editor and column attempting to defend Critical Race Theory being taught in our schools.

Michael Kinser calls condemning CRT a “bogeyman” and says, “As if the country needed another reason to become more divisive.” It would seem he is totally oblivious to the fact that CRT teaches division.

I find it particularly humorous that as he rants about ignorance of history he praises Franklin Delano Roosevelt who history shows was an actual racist.

Michele Norris’s column almost sounds reasonable until she quotes the horrible law she opposes. “Classroom teachers must refrain from promoting the idea that ‘an individual, by virtue of his or her race or sex, is inherently racist, sexist or oppressive, whether consciously or unconsciously.’”

In other words, CRT teaches that white men, women and children are born racist and oppressors whether they know it or not. And children of color are born victims. It is literally teaching children racism and division. And it is being promoted by the party of division which needs a divided country to win elections.

Under this theory, Mr. Kinser, Jack Ronald, President Joe Biden, Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi, Senate majority leader Chuck Schumer and I are all racists by birth. And while Biden actually has a history of racist comments and actions, I am not a racist and I am sick to death of Democrats trying to call me one. So unless Mr. Kinser wants to admit he is a racist he might want to reconsider his opinion on CRT.

And just for the record, no one on the right has any problem at all with teaching actual Black history, the evils of slavery and Jim Crow or long ignored heroes who were people of color. Teaching racist opinion and Democrat propaganda as fact is a totally different matter.
