Swiss Village opens shuffleboard courts

Shuffleboard courts are open in Berne.
The Arthur & Gloria Muselman Wellness Pavilion at Swiss Village opened its shuffleboard courts to the public today.
League play will begin Thursday, with free leagues playing at 6 p.m. on Mondays and 9 a.m. on Thursdays. Players 16 and older are welcome to attend, and pre-registration for leagues is not required.
The courts are also open to the public outside of league times.
Swiss Village, located at 1201 Emmental Drive, Berne, will also host the Indiana State Pro Shuffleboard Tournament at 9 a.m. July 31. It is open to anyone, with registration required by 8:45 a.m. July 31. The fee is $8.

Picnic is Thursday
Ouabache State Park in rural Berne will host its Picnic in the Park at noon Thursday.
The program “Honeybees and Honey” will presented by Abbey Wheeler of Wheeler Bees.
The event is open to the public and participants are invited to bring lunch and a chair. Desserts will be provided.

LifeStream Services is accepting applications for its Senior Farmers’ Market Nutrition Program Vouchers to purchase fruits and vegetables from qualifying locations. They are worth $20 and are provided by the state on a first-come, first-serve basis.
