Charles Tague

Charles Tague, age 78, of Portland passed away on Wednesday, June 16, 2021, in the IU Health Ball Memorial Hospital in Muncie.
He was born in Portland on Dec. 4, 1942, the son of Douglas and Ann (Godfrey) Tague. He was married on Sept. 23, 1967, to Vicki Grisell and she passed away on April 19, 2019.
Charlie served in the U.S. Army, was a 1960 graduate of Portland High School and was a member of Asbury United Methodist Church. Charlie was retired as a technical engineer for A & R Pipeline. He served on the board of directors of Meridian Services. He was active in the community and participated regularly in the Jay County Cancer Society WALK Against Cancer.
Surviving are his daughter, Stephanie Tague of Churubusco, Indiana; one sister, Susan May of Washington state; and two granddaughters, Alyson Lucas of Churubusco and Lauren Lucas of Havelock, North Carolina.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, John Tague and Larry Tague.
A memorial service will be held on Friday, July 16, 2021, at 10 a.m. in Asbury United Methodist Church with Pastor Joe Boggs presiding. Military rites by American Legion Post 211 will follow the services.
Memorials can be made to The Portland Foundation, Arts Place, Jay County Chamber of Commerce, Asbury United Methodist Church, Meridian Health Services, Portland Rotary Club, John Jay Center for Learning, Jay County Cancer Society, United Way of Jay County or choice of the donor.
