Mary Friddle
Jan. 5, 1934-July 10, 2021
Mary Alice Friddle, 87, of Redkey, passed away Saturday, July 10, 2021, unexpectedly at her residence.
Mary was born in Redkey, Indiana, on Jan. 5, 1934, a daughter of the late Russell J. and Ina (Heniscey) Rantz. She was a 1952 graduate of Redkey High School, a devoted woman of God, wife, mother, granny and homemaker throughout her life.
Mary was the widow of Donald L. Friddle, who she happily married on Nov. 16, 1952, and sadly lost in 1989. She was formerly employed by Carr Canning Factory, Willman's Bakery, McCord's 5 & 10 store and Redkey Pak-A-Sak.
Mary was a member of the Jay County Extension Homemakers and attended Redkey Methodist Church whenever she could. She enjoyed crocheting, plants, animals, sitting on her porch, scrapbooking cherished family memories, listening to gospel music, watching Jimmy Swaggart and other Christian ministry programs, and reading her Bible.
Mary is survived by three sons, Jeffrey A. Friddle (Martha), Donald D. Friddle (Perlita) and Ted L. Friddle (Brenda K.); one sister, Wanda Kay Buckles; six grandchildren, Mindy L. Glassford (Joe), Lindsay D. Friddle (Mindi), Brandon L. Friddle (Holly A.), Dylan M. Friddle (Scott), Taylor Jo Steed (Corey) and Lane Zaugg (Sammy); 10 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Donald L.; two sisters, Theodotta D. Hillard and Helen Joyce Farling; and three grandchildren, James (Jamie) Friddle, a precious infant grandson and Justin Wade Friddle.
Services will be private at the convenience of the family with burial to follow in Hillcrest Cemetery in Redkey, Indiana.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Jay County Humane Society.
Arrangements have been entrusted to MJS Mortuaries – Redkey Chapel.
