Multiple wild animals caused accidents recently.
Victoria G. Drumm, 18, Bryant, was driving west on county road 500 North near county road 150 West around midnight this morning when raccoons ran across the road. She swerved her 2000 Chevy Blazer to avoid the animals, causing her vehicle to roll over in the roadside ditch. The Chevy was towed, with damage estimated less than $1,000.
Lucas E. Weir, 33, Muncie, was driving north on county road 1150 West near county road 600 South about 6:14 a.m. Monday when a deer ran into his vehicle. Damage to Weir’s 2005 Subaru Forester is estimated between $2,500 and $5,000.
Kelly J. Schrader, 57, Muncie, was driving north on Indiana 1 just south of county road 150 North about 2:35 a.m. Monday when a deer ran across the road. She was unable to avoid the collision. Damage to the 2017 Chevy Express she was driving –– it is registered to Davans Inc. of Berne –– is estimated between $1,000 and $2,500. The vehicle was towed.
Brandon M. McIntire, 20, Portland, was driving west on county road 600 North just west of county road 200 East about 12:16 a.m. Sunday when a deer ran in front of his vehicle. Damage to the 2007 Chevrolet Silverado is estimated between $1,000 and $2,500.
Davlyn J. Study, 21, Ridgeville, was driving south on U.S. 27 near county road 450 South about 10:15 p.m. Friday when a deer ran across the road. Study was unable to avoid the collision. Damage to his 2014 Chevrolet Cruze is estimated between $2,500 and $5,000.
