Obituary
Karen Elaine Howell passed away on Friday, July 16, at Medical City North Hills Hospital in North Richland Hills, Texas, following a brief illness.
She was born on Sept. 26, 1961, in Celina, Ohio, to Rose Agnes (Neal) Howell and Floyd Thomas Howell. She was a 1979 graduate of Jay County High School in Portland, Indiana, and a graduate of International Business College in Fort Wayne, Indiana.
She worked as a paralegal and executive assistant at various firms in the Fort Worth, Texas, area. She is survived by her son, Justin S. Rarick of Hurst, Texas; daughter-in-law, Amber Staine of Hurst, Texas; parents, Floyd and Agnes Howell of Pennville, Indiana; brother, Keith Howell and wife, Geneveb of Portland, Indiana; brother, Steve Howell and wife, Debbie of Indianapolis, Indiana; sister Susan Howell and husband Andrew Shilling of Muncie, Indiana; and numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews who she adored and cherished.
A visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, July 21, 2021, at Lucas Funeral Home in Hurst. Funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, July 22, 2021, also at Lucas Funeral Home in Hurst. Additionally, the service will be live-streamed via the Lucas Funeral Home website at lucasfuneralhomes.com.
A memorial service will be held in Indiana at a future date to be determined.
