Thelmer Sisco
Sept. 9, 1960- July 21, 2021
Thelmer Lee Sisco, 60, of Warsaw, Indiana, formerly of Dunkirk, Indiana, passed away peacefully Wednesday, July 21, 2021, at his residence.
Thelmer was born in Portland, Indiana, on Sept. 9, 1960, a son of the late Jannett C. (Sargent) Sisco Sharpe and Carl J. Sisco. He was formerly employed by Cardinal Services, volunteered for the Tootsie Roll Drive, participated in activities for Special Olympics, YMCA, the local senior center, sign language classes and going to the Wagon Wheel for musical plays.
Thel is known for his love of the Lord, socializing with people, his helpful heart and a smile that could light up a room. He enjoyed horseback riding, bowling, basketball, baseball, coloring, painting, fishing, farming, swimming, playing games, dot to dot books, crafts, shopping, cooking, Indiana University basketball, Fort Wayne Komets hockey, bird watching, flowers, gardening, dancing, dogs, camping, sitting around a camp fire with his family and everything Christmas.
Thel is survived by his step mother, Patricia Sisco; one brother, Daniel Sharpe (wife: Sheryl); six sisters, Debbie Bailey, Michelle (Sisco) Engle (husband: Tim), Gloria Currie, Danette Hamilton (husband: Don), Tina Frankenberg (husband: Randy) and Charity Gordon (widow of Tom); a special friend, Kristen Dauterman; and several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews and great-great-nieces and great-great-nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Kenny and Dewayne Sisco; one sister, Karla Pryor; one brother-in-law Robert Pryor; two nephews, Timothy Sisco and Rodney Pryor.
Services are private at the convenience of the family with burial to follow in Dunkirk IOOF Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in care of the funeral home for a future signing scholarship in Thelmer's Honor.
Arrangements have been entrusted to MJS Mortuaries.
