Two derbies are set for Saturday
There will be plenty of opportunities for fishing this weekend.
A pair of fishing derbies are scheduled for Saturday — with a forecast calling for mostly sunny skies and a high of 79 — with Portland Optimist Club holding its derby at Hudson Family Park in Portland and West Jay Optimist Club holding its derby at 9848 W. 600 South, Redkey.
Registration for both derbies begins at 8 a.m.
Door prizes will be given in a variety of categories, including for biggest fish and most fish. There will also be a casting contest.
The derbies are for children ages 3 through 17. Those younger than 16 must be accompanied by an adult.
Lunch will be served at 11:30 a.m.
